INTRODUCTION

Ball pythons are among the best snakes to keep in captivity. They are deliberate in there actions and inoffensive by nature. They have beautiful colours and interesting patterns. On the one hand, they are extremely hardy animals that require minimal attention and they can thrive during periods of neglect. On the other hand, they tolerate lots of attention and handling. In other words, ball pythons are ideally suited to survive the mistakes and neglect that shouldn't ever happen, but occasionally do to all kinds of captive snakes.There is such wide variation in the colours and patterns of regular normal ball pythons that its unlikely any two are alike. Occasionally, ball pythons with extraordinary and extreme degrees of variation in their appearances are collected and imported. Some of these are truly incredible to behold, and it seems that everyone has his or her own particular favorite ball python. the amazing thing is that just as soon as it seems that every type of ball python mutation has finally been seen, a new kind shows up. Many of these mutations [morphs] are now being captive bred and are commercially available. Ball pythons offer something for almost every snake keeper. This is a great first snake for a beginner. Ball pythons also have captured the attention and devotion of many of the best and most experienced snakebreeders in the world. Consider all the different ball python morphs; then consider the even greater array of incredible snakes that could result from the interbreeding and combination of these. It seems certain that this small python will remain foremost in the attentions and affections of snake keepers and breeders for a long time to come.
